Archie Lewis AffIMI
Experience: 16 years
Archie runs the car sales, he has taken over this role from Bob, Archie is who you will deal with directly 1 to 1, from making your first enquiry right through to after sales, he will be your guide and point of contact throughout your car buying journey and also your window tinting one too, the landline phone number is diverted to Archie’s mobile which means you can contact him any time of day. There isn’t much Archie doesn’t know about cars and the whole motor trade in general, he really goes in depth into all the intricate details whether that be how the DVLA online systems work to technical issues with cars, there isn’t much that escapes his knowledge!

Robert Lewis MIMI
Experience: 46 years
Robert (Bob) Is the man behind Tint My Ride, he is a car window tinting wizard who can rapidly tint almost all cars without removing trims! Bob has been selling cars here at 37 North Road for 44 years now and he doesn’t plan on going anywhere else anytime soon, he began here when Albert Lewis (Bob’s late father) bought the premises in 1982 which was a petrol station up until 1999, Bob also ran the workshop for 17 years until 1999 when that became J&M Motors who have since run the workshop independently to us. 

Albert Lewis MIMI (1929-2016)
Experience: ~50 years
Albert (Bert) started out in the motor trade in the 60’s working for Ford Motor Company as an engineer, he was part of Team Dunton which was Ford’s rally team, he trailered a Ford Capri (see picture below) to Italy and was one of the rally mechanics! Bert bought the garage (formerly Gt Clacton Garage) at 37 North Road 44 years ago, before that he owned petrol stations in Benfleet, Essex, he retired in 1999 when we decided to close the petrol station business due to supermarket competition.

The History behind 37 North Road:
The garage here used to be a wheelwrights (see picture below) which dates back to around 1840, the newer building which exists today was built in the 1960’s.
